It is the first major project launched under the foundation’s name. Participants photographed birds across different regions of Kazakhstan and uploaded their images to the platform
wingeds.world, developed by Pavel Adzhigildyaev.
Collected data is used for:
species detection and distribution mapping;
conducting spring and fall seasonal counts;
creating sector-based observations using terrain squares;
tracking population changes over time.
To automate observations, an AI system, that can identify species by appearance and calls, is being developed. All data can be exported to the international GBIF system, making them accessible to the global scientific community.
